Please join Chris’s wife Lisa, close family and friends at a service that will be about the course of Chris’s life and also a celebration of disability culture and the diverse community he cultivated and longed for. 

What: Homegoing Service for Chris Smit, in-person and livestream

When: Friday, May 26, at 7:00pm EST, Doors open at 6:00pm EST

Where: Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain Street, Grand Rapids MI 49503

Letters to Chris | We invite friends, colleagues, and loved ones to commune, connect and share their memories of Chris, his life, and his legacy, by adding their own “Letters To Chris”.

Accessible Seating, ASL Interpretation, Live Captioning, Livestream and a welcoming environment will be available.

More details will be added as the service gets closer.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to DisArt in Chris’ memory to support a sneak preview of our new exhibition, Art of Disruption, this fall in Grand Rapids, MI.
