The work is comprised of four thin squares of clay with irregular surfaces. The artist appears to have laid more than 250 short clay shapes that resemble elongated faces side by side along the surface. The pattern is not uniform and the faces generally do not overlap. Each face is colored either light or dark beige and has 3 miniature clay circles that resemble two eyes and a mouth. The eyes and mouth are created using clay that is the opposite color as the body. The number and placement of light and dark faces varies on each square. One square consists primarily of light beige faces scattered across its surface; interspersed with only a few that are dark beige. Another, which is also primarily made up of light beige faces, has a concentration of dark faces along the left 2” of the square. The third contains mostly dark faces, with only a few light ones scattered across it. The fourth square also contains mostly dark faces but, this time, has medium dark faces arranged in a line from the top of the square to the bottom and is approximately 2” in from the left side.
